The Coroner has to be notified if a body is to be taken out of England and Wales.

If you intend to do this, you must give the Coroner written notice as soon as possible. The Coroner will then consider whether any (further) investigation is needed and will notify the next of kin of his or her decision as soon as possible and within four days. Most funeral directors can give further information on this procedure and the Registrar can give you the necessary form when your register the death.
