JHMT's Support

2018 will be another busy year on the swimming events calendar circuit with trips to France to represent the East Midlands at an International Meet. In February, a trip to Majorca on a training camp for a week. Then in March, Jay's going to Edinburgh for 5 days, to swim at The British Championships.

Jay recognises the commitment and all round support from his family is vitally important as the costs to travel to meets in the UK and Europe soon adds up to quite a substantial amount of money needed to compete. Every bit of support helps along the way to also purchase new equipment as well. Jay said: The Inspire Award small grant would enable me to buy some new equipment and trunks for this year. Having the latest equipment means that my competitors would not have an advantage over me. In swimming a hundreds of a second can make the difference between a gold and silver medal. Correctly fitted trunks and the latest technology in swimming trunks and goggles can make this difference.'

Simon Taylor, Inspire lead, said ' Jay is a great prospect and we hope this award will help him achieve even greater things.'
