How Karen Ran, Out of Kindness

Some of her runs are in official races whilst other are just solo efforts.
But the mother of three grown up children is clearly doing something right. And she has no plans to stop pounding the streets in her pink trainers any time soon.
If someone mentions a charity, I look it up on the internet and if it's a good cause I'll run for them said Karen.
Here latest 10km run around Lutterworth and Bitteswell area was inspired by a work colleague from Asda at Magna Park.
Linda Anstee, who lives in Market Harborough, mentioned to Karen that her family had a rogue gene that caused Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS).
A relative Joe Humphries had died aged 14 from SADS and the whole extended family were now being tested to see if they had inherited the problem, Mrs Anstee said.
Karen looked up the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust and saw it was a very worthwhile cause and fetched out the pink trainers.
She completed her latest run in 50 minutes, 40 seconds, and hopes to have raised more than £250.
I thoroughly enjoy the running and doing it for different charities makes it even better said Karen. I just try not to exhaust people I know with all the fundraising!
