The charity is hosting an open day event on Saturday, at Rothley Parish Church, in Church Street, between 10am and noon.

Joe's dad, Steve said: "The event will enable parents to learn more about the underlying cardiac issues such as Sads that can strike down anyone, any time and anywhere.

"A tragedy of this scale has a devastating impact on hundreds of people, including family, friends, school, sports clubs and communities."

The event will include short presentations and information from medical experts on Sads and an opportunity to have a go at cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) after watching a recently-launched video called Hands On and Keep Calm which features trust patron and rugby legend Martin Johnson.
