I have just performed at my first dance competition. I was really excited at first and couldn't wait to perform. When I first walked into the building I was really confused, everyone seemed to know what they were doing as they had been before, so I got a bit nervous.

My first performance was my Highland's ballet troupe. This dance went so well. Everyone was in time and the costumes looked amazing on stage. This was the first time this dance had been entered into a competition. We came first place and I was asked to go up and collect the trophy on behalf of my team.

My second dance was with the senior troupe and we performed The Great Gatsby. This was a modern dance and although we didn't dace quite as well as the ballet performance we managed to keep it going and it seemed to look great on the stage. We won first place.

My third and final troupe was A Musical, which was also a modern dance performed with the seniors. The costumes were fun as everyone dressed up as characters from different musicals. It looked exciting and effective on the stage. We didn't dance this one as well as we had in rehearsal but we managed to keep dancing and make it to the end of the dance. A Musical came fourth place which we were all happy with.

Overall, it was a really successful competition especially to place with 2 firsts and a fourth award. I loved every second of it and I can't wait for my next competition where I hope to perform my first solo dance.
