At last, after competing at the Nationals at Ponds Forge, every year since I was 12, and qualifying for finals, this year was my year!!

I had a good 100m and 50m backstroke, making finals in both.

But the best was my swim in the heat of my 200m backstroke and qualified as 2nd fastest through to the finals in the evening.

I swam my fastest ever in a 2.14:95 and after an agonising wait whilst the timing board updated my lane position I claimed the silver medal.

I've got 1 more race tomorrow, the 400m IM - in the English nationals, before the end of the season.
