Season openers

Posted: Sun, 22 Apr 2018

Two weeks ago, I began my outdoor season with a competition at Loughborough. I competed in the 110m hurdles and the 400m, it was a strong start to the season, recording the English Schools qualifying time in the hurdles and also having a solid run out in the 400m.

Yesterday, I competed in another open meet, this time in Kettering. I ran in the 200m and 400m; the 200m came first, and due to the perfect conditions with clear skies and no wind, I was able to run a personal best of 23.2, which is promising at this early stage of the season. Unfortunately, the 400m came less than half an hour after I finished my 200m, meaning I didn't have sufficient time to recover and thus wasn't able to perform to the best of my ability; however, overall, it has been a strong start to the season and now I have the confidence to build on it and hopefully progress with recording more personal bests.

A big thank you to the JHMT team, the new kit I've been able to purchase with the grant has proven to be really helpful!
