Biography

Laura Aryeetey is 16 years old and from Loughborough, Leicestershire and a member of Charnwood Athletics Club.

'After participating in athletics for the past 5 years, I have developed a love for the sport and competing and therefore strive to achieve the best possible results as I continue pursuing my goal to continue competing at a high level into my future.

Previously, I have had great success in both athletics and cross country, competing at high levels over the past 5 years. I'm showing great consistency after reaching the competitive entry standard of English Schools for the past three consecutive years, and finishing 5th in 2016. I have also achieved great results in English Schools cross country finishing as a reserve for the England team in 10th place.

I'm also proud of reaching many other national standards in both track and cross country and I hope this grant will allow me to continue training with the best possible support and therefore reach my full potential when competing.

The Inspire Award would mean a great deal to me and my future in athletics. I believe it will have huge beneficial effects on my performance and my confidence. Also, It will provide me with support so I am able to continue training at a national standard and strive to compete for England in the future seasons.
