Joel is 20 years old and a aspiring music producer / DJ from Leicester. This year has been most memorable which has seen success with a physical release of an album on the popular web platform Bandcamp. The music caught the interest of Joe Muggs, a music journalist, who writes for The Guardian, DJ Mag, Resident Advisor and Mixmag actually wrote an article for Bandcamp Daily which featured Joel's music as a recommended purchase.

Joel said: ' I believe the next step is to put my music onto wax. My musical friends and I run a community on Soundcloud called "Xephem Records". The aim has always been to eventually produce actual records and we have developed our skills for the last two years and have managed to gain a reasonable fan base for our material.

'The music we produce is alternative dance music, also known as "Braindance". Famous musicians who produce music of this genre include Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Clark and Squarepusher. I believe the album can sell successfully with our combined fan bases which are most abundant in the UK, Belgium and the USA (Based on Bandcamp sales). In the future I want to be doing gigs at small festivals throughout the UK with a goal of performing at Bangface, the UK's most well known festival for this spectrum of dance music.'
