Biography

Dylan is 14 years old and an aspiring young tennis from Leicester who has a passion second to none when it comes to playing Tennis, having took up the sport since the age of 3.

I have competed at County, Regional and National level and continue to do now. I have been County champion in different age groups and was 14s County champion last summer. I am coming up to my last summer season in my age group and have ambition to have a successful summer competing in the Nationals (there are 5 competitions). I have ambitions to aim for British Tour and Tennis Europe in the future. I am a very passionate tennis player who trains 4/5 days a week as my school timetable is arranged around my training schedule.I have also played for my school, my club at Premier league and with the men's first team. I have also played for the County since the age of 8/9 years old.

It would mean so much as I have struggled this winter season (Sep-March) with competing due to a lack of resources which has hampered my attempts to attend County training. I have been lucky to maintain my National ranking of 30 because I did well in events last summer. Tennis is natural to me as going to school, it's part of my normal life. It's a sport I love and want to carry on working and developing. Getting an award would mean my effort with training is rewarded with my place in the summer Nationals. I want to carry on improving but need to compete at a high level so I carry on pushing myself. I would love to get a scholarship to university and play on a bigger scale.

The grant would help me secure entry into the summer 2019 National competitions which then would help me improve my ranking. My aim is to get into the top 16 for the end of summer playoffs(grade 1) and finish my 14 age category on a positive note and aim for Tennis Europe events

Simon Taylor, Inspire lead, said: Dylan is a hugely committed and successful young man. His single mindedness and focus on his sport is a great example to other young people.
