Biography

David Aryeetey is 21 years old and an aspiring young athlete from Loughborough. He's one of Leicestershire's up and coming hurdlers, competing in both the 110m hurdles and the 400m hurdles. He has several county medals and titles in both events and after winning the 110m hurdles title for the Midlands a few seasons ago, was able to earn his first national vest, competing for the England Midlands team at a Welsh International event. He has qualified for several senior British Athletics Championships and last season was ranked in the top 10 for 110m hurdles and in the top 15 for the 400m hurdles, in his Under-23 age group.

He is currently going into his third year studying Product Design Engineering at Loughborough University, where he also continues his athletics training as part of the University's first team squad.

JHMT's Support

David took part in his first national championships at England Age Group Championships, where he clocked personal best of 8.60 in the 60m hurdles.

David said: ' I am applying for this grant in order for it to help further my progression in athletics and in particular 400m hurdles. The Inspire Award will be used to purchase athletics equipment such as running spikes, running trainers and running shorts It would mean a lot if I got this award as it would give me the platform I need to reach my target of making the English Schools final in under 20 mens 400m hurdles
