Daniel Maud is a 19 year old student who is from Leicestershire, and competes for Charnwood athletics club. He's been competing for the last 4 years now and has steadily progressed in performance as he has moved through the age groups. Predominantly Daniel is a track athlete with his most successful performances including a 2nd place finish in the UK indoor athletics under 20 championships in 2020 as well as achieving a BUCS 800 metre semi final during his first year of university. Also Daniel placed 6th in the prestigious English schools athletics championships the previous year. These positive results have inspired Daniel to try and pursue further excellence in the sport and invest even more time into it. Currently Daniel is studying Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Birmingham and is training amongst lots of talented young athletes including junior European champions and senior GB internationals. Daniel has a current personal best of 3 minutes 52 in the 1500 metres however hopes to improve this with the implementation of strength and conditioning enabled by funding from JHMT as well as increased mileage this current winter with this excellent training group he has become a part of.
