Biography

I love musical theatre and my aim is to have a career performing in the West End with the dream part being Eponine in Les Miserables. I performed my first solo at the age of 4 at our local talent show and I won the rising star award. Since then I have auditioned and received a number of acting and dance parts in both professional and amateur shows and the more I do, the more I long to reach my dream. Recent successful professional auditions were for a summer season production of Carousel at Kilworth House and the pantomime at De Montfort Hall with imagine Theatre.

To be a performer in the West End I need to be a triple threat performer. This means having an equally high ability in acting, dancing and singing. The feedback from the first audition I went to told me that I had potential, but I need to improve in dancing. I listened to this feedback and have been practicing and focussing on improving my dancing ever since. I have been attending dance lessons at Shelby Schools of Performing Arts for 6 years. The teachers have seen so much improvement that I was invited to join the competition team and since then have won a number of medals. Most recently I took the lead in the performance of Bye Bye Blackbird at the recent annual show. I am really appreciative that JHMT have supported me in this journey and helped me to gain these achievements.

I recently successfully auditioned to be a part of the Jodie Steele Elites squad. Being granted the JHMT award to help me to attend the squad will mean I am able to take my training to the next level. Being a part of JSA will help me hone my performance skills whilst also having the opportunity to put myself in front of agents, casting directors and professionals in the industry who could support me in the performing arts industry. The first workshop day will be training with the West End director of Les Miserables - what a privilege that will be to help me prepare for the next stage of my training.
