Chance to Win Two Tickets to Charity Dinner for just £5

Posted: Fri, 20 Feb 2015

The dinner dance, held in aid of the Joe Humphries Memorial Trust, will take place on Saturday 25 April at Leicester's King Power Stadium.

The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust (JHMT) is a local charity that campaigns tirelessly for better understanding and awareness of SADS (sudden arrhythmic death syndrome) and sudden heart deaths.

It was set up after the tragic death of 14-year-old Rothley teenager Joe Humphries in October 2012, who collapsed and died while out jogging near his home.

Guests at the fundraising event will be treated to a three-course meal with entertainment from local musicians Jersey Budd and Swaggar. There will also be a disco.

As well as a raffle and silent auction to raise charity funds on the night, people who would like to attend can enter a raffle currently running on the JHMT website to win two tickets to the dinner dance, worth £110.

Raffle tickets are £5 – to enter, simply visit www.jhmt.org.uk/events/2015/04/black-tie-dinner-dance

The event will be attended by local celebrities including rugby legend and former England captain Martin Johnson, who is patron of JHMT.

Martin said: "Our inaugural black tie dinner in 2014 was a huge success, so this year it's back by popular demand. We owe huge thanks to IT healthcare business the 6PM Group for their support staging this event.

"This event is a really important fixture in our fundraising calendar. The money raised on this night goes towards our vital work to raise awareness of the staggering fact that 12 young people aged 12-35 die each week in Britain from undiagnosed heart problems like SADS.

"We also use the money raised tonight to fund our ongoing programme of life-saving CPR training for schools and sports clubs, ensuring the availability of more automated external defibrillators (AEDs), plus helping young people to fulfill their ambitions through our Inspire Awards small grants scheme."

Tickets to the event cost £55 each, or £500 for a table of 10, and bookings are now open. An early bird booking offer of a 5% discount on these prices is available until 1 March.

Entries to the raffle to win two free tickets to the event are being taken via the website until midnight on 27 February. Winners will be contacted on 28 February.
