Team Baird complete Three Peak Challenge
Posted: Mon, 30 Sep 2013
At 6am Friday 27th September 2013 The Baird family left home destined for Fort William, 1065 miles later they arrived back home!
"During the time away we had the most amazing trip together, Steph and Aimee drove for the entire trip including 9 hours between Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (Cumbria), Snowdon (Wales) in light, dark, wind and rainy conditions on Motorways and narrow country lanes, almost 500 miles. They didnÂ’t falter once, well done girls and a huge thank you."
"Without their driving support, motivation and sense of humour Tom and I (Adrian) could never have achieved our mountain climbing, keen to get started at Ben so early meant that we arrived at Scafell Pike at 1am so we climbed the entire mountain in darkness beneath a clear star filled sky. This was dangerous but so rewarding on completion and an experience I will never forget."
Team Baird completed the challenge in 23 hours 36 minutes and whilst this was the most tiring 23 hours 36 minutes of their lives, it was the most precious spent with my terrific family all in aid of Joe Humphries who was our inspiration during the whole journey.
For those of you who have donated our sincere thanks, for those of you thinking about it…please do!
