Two marketing officers from Leicester City Council, Sarinda Bains and Marie Hill are completing a series of endurance events to raise money in memory of Joe.
Steve Humphries, chair of JHMT said: This is another fantastic gesture by the councils staff who are helping to raise awareness of the trusts campaign to reduce the incidence of the silent killer, SADS, which is responsible for loss of 12 young people every week.
The pair aim to finish the Leicester half marathon on 13th October, starting out from the citys Victoria Park despite being novice runners before tackling a tough mudder event next summer.
Sarinda said: "I challenged myself to do a half marathon this year, but never expected Marie to sign up too so then I had to do it! The Joe Humphries Memorial Trust does great work and I am pleased to be able to support them."
Marie added: "I've always wanted to do a tough mudder its an extreme obstacle course which includes running through live electric wires and scaling twelve foot walls. A half marathon seemed like the perfect warm up for it at the time."
