Season Update

After over a year away from any sort of competition, the 2021 outdoor season has gotten off to a flying start! In my first 4 competitions I competed in I ran 4 new personal bests! I opened up my racing at Loughborough on 25th April and gave the 800m a go for the first time; I went into the race hoping for a sub 2:05 run and fortunately I smashed that target, clocking in at 1:58.38!

This early success spurred me on to another couple of personal bests in my usual hurdle events, beginning with a 14.84 clocking over the 110m hurdles on 12th May, followed by a 54.63 run over the 400m hurdles (a two second pb!) on 16th May.

Following on from this performance I was then fortunate enough to be invited to compete in the guest race 400m hurdles at the prestigious Loughborough International, where I once again won my race and improved my time down to 54.11 - just 0.11 off of the qualifying time for British Championships!

Last bank holiday weekend, I travelled down to London to compete in the 400m hurdles again. Unfortunately a loss of concentration during the race led me to underperform and mess up the later part of the run, meaning I didn't achieve the time I was hoping for and only ran 54.73, although, I did still win my race and I have learnt from my mistakes and will be looking to rectify them come the Senior Midlands Championships next weekend.

I would like to once again thank the JHMT for their support across the last couple of seasons and apologise for my inconsistency with posting, it has been a challenging year with a very busy schedule, however, as the university term is approaching it's end I hope to keep you all updated with my progress across the rest of the summer season and beyond.
