Right then where do I start, last Saturday I had one of the most important tournements I have to compete in. I was an under dog not expected to win or even get close!
Mixed doubles: me and my partner holly played amazing in a mixed doubles managing to get through to the quarter final and beating the top pair in the tournament, that put us through to the semi finals on the Sunday! On the Sunday we go on court for our semi final, we have referees ,line judges you name it, we were playing the top top pair of the tournament who are representing England national team on a daily basis. We took the first set off them 21-19 into the second they upped there game not much but enough to beat us in the second end 16-21 and finally the third set we lost 18-21 which me and my partner holly were extremely proud of!
Men's singles: another great event personally for me because I played awesome! Within the gold tournements there is a gold men's singles for the average players, and there is something called the gold star men's singles which is for the top 16 men's singles players in the country and I'm on there. I sweeped every player in my group off there feet they didn't know what had hit them this gave me a spot in the semi final on the Sunday! On the Sunday morning I was playing a guy called Nadeem dalvi goes to a private badminton school and plays for England everyone of the spectators thought I was never gonna beat him I won the first set 21-11 then at the start of the second I had a slight knee issue which caused me to loose 8-21 and then in the third I went all out and pulled the win out of the bag into the final here we come!! Into the final I was playing Blake hoang, the best men's singles player in u17 by far i lost 21-15 21-17 which I was proud of and very much worth the silver medal.
Concluding my tournament I was very proud and it's by far my best performance and I wouldn't of done it without you all thank
You.
