Thank you to the Judges for awarding me a grant once again for the coming year. This award will help me tremendously with my swimming. I have several competitions coming up, one in Edinburgh and I will be flying there so this money will be very useful. Entries into competitions, plus accommodation can be very expensive, especially if I enter several events.

My next competition is on 26 and 27 January at Ponds Forge, following this I will be swimming for Loughborough University in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) from 15 to 16 February. Loughborough has always been very successful in this competition winning the overall trophy as well as the women's and men's one. In Edinburgh, I will be competing in the Edinburgh International Meet which draws swimmers from abroad. This is from 15 to 17 March.

I have one more competition planned at the moment and that is the British Swimming Championships to be held in Glasgow from 16 to 21 April. Entries into this competition are £13.00 per entry and if I decide to fly to Glasgow, there will be the expense of the flight, plus accommodation costs. Without any support, I would have to rely on my parents to help with the costs involved. Receiving an award from Inspire makes a big difference, knowing that they support you in your sport. I always take time in any competition to encourage any young swimmers who sometimes are competing for the first time.
