National Trophy CycloCross Series Update

Having just come back from numerous big National races and being very busy working
hard, I haven't been able to update on the races one at a time, so here's a big update!
The first national race of the season was at Derby so nice and local, nice and fast with
many cambers plus scaffolding bridges and scaffolding steps to race up. I felt and raced
strong and finished first with a nice lead. This gained me the green series leader jersey
which I would wear for the next round in Scotland.
Two weeks passed and were soon on our long travels to the west coast of Scotland in
Irvine. Again nicely treated to beautiful dry weather and felt on form, I raced a fast
course taking in deep sand banks and the beach and many cambers on the hillside.
Once again I raced strong to finish first and clear of all my competitors to retain the
green leader's jersey.
Most recently, I have travelled to Ardingly near Crawley. The course and conditions
were completely different from the last two races with recent rain fall the course was
very slippy and muddy. Heavy rain and thunderstorms overnight turned the already
challenging course into a complete mud bath. Several very steep banks, scaffolding
steps and deep mud that covered your feet made for a challenging race. Again and as
always racing hard, struggling with the conditions at times finished I second after a
sprint finish where I sadly lost out by 0.2 of a second. All of my overall points retained
the green jersey for the next round. Round 4 will take place in York then onto Ipswich,
Shrewsbury and lastly Gravesend, Kent.
