Over the last week I have competed in the English National Summer meet at Ponds Forge in Shelffield. All of this year's training and countless galas have ultimately come down to this final week in the season. I qualified for four events and had great opportunities at finals in all. First was the 50 freestyle which was an amazing time in the heat getting me in to the final in a huge PB. Continuing my meet I swam the 100 fly and dropped a whole second on my PB, improving on my heat swim and placing me 6th overall. The 100 free was next and although swimming close to my PB, I didn't come out with the result I wanted but now know how to improve next time. Nevertheless, the 50 fly; my main event, was last and the heat swim was on Saturday morning. I swam an amazing PB and was the only 17 year old to go under 26 with a time of 25.99, entering me 1st in to the final. This last race couldn't have gone better and I finished 1st in yet another PB of 25.75 becoming English National Champion.
