Indoor Season Update - so my new pole, helped to purchase by JHMT arrived just after Christmas, having taken an incredibly painful 12 week wait to arrive from America.
However, as soon as it did, I got on it and - although landing back on the track and not on the bed on the first go on it - soon found that I absolutely loved it. The carbon is so light that carrying it while running is so much easier, it has such a great flex and I just love the small grip. So I took it out for a spin at both Vault Cardiff and Vault Manchester where I nervously cleared vaults up to my PB as I got used to it. However, yesterday at Loughborough - my home venue - I got an amazing new PB of 3.70! 20cm over my PB and what I had set as my target for the season! This has placed me over the UK top ten standard for the first time since I started vaulting, and currently 5th in my age group! I am so thrilled, and thank you so much to JHMT for their support in helping me to get the new pole to help me achieve this! Now to set a new target! And probably time to start saving up for an even bigger pole!
