Friday 26th - Day 3 - Rest Day

Posted: Tue, 20 Dec 2016

Woke up late after having a lovely lie in. Went to breakfast, Premier Inn's do the best breakfast, all you can eat, they're spot on every time.

We got into the campervan and took a slow, relaxed drive back to Ravenglass to meet up with the others. We passed the Angel of the North, which Josh said he only recognised because of Geordie Shore. And by early afternoon had arrived back at the campsite.

Spent the day relaxing, had a dog walk to the beach, played some board games in Uncle Chirs's awning and generally didn't do much. It was lovely compared to the two days before.

Mum sent me and Josh to do some washing up and I learnt of his fear of bubbles. I thought he was trying to get out of the washing but apparently it was true; his mum confirmed it when I texted her. We didn't make fun of him for that at all...

Later we set me and Josh's tent up. We had decided to borrow Nicks tent for me and Josh because the campervan was very cramped and Dad snores badly! It was a new experience for Josh; he'd never slept in a tent before, he didn't even know what a roll mat was!

We waited for the arrival of Laura and Mike, they were going to be climbing Scafell pike the day after so we welcomed them and we had dinner together. Then Arthur had to head home so I thanked him for all he had done and he set off.

That night me and Josh got into the tent. Sadly it started raining very badly and the tent leaked, I was impressed, Josh didn't complain... much. Anyway, we slept well and were ready for the mountain the day after.
